A Life Remembered, A Heart Forever Missed. 🕊️💔
On a quiet Monday morning in Phoenix, Arizona, 66-year-old Amado Rodriguez Jr. was taken from this world in a heartbreaking tragedy that has left a life ended, a family grieving, and memories that will forever remain. Shortly before 6 a.m., Amado was riding his bicycle near the Salt River bridge on 16th Street, south of University Drive, when he was struck by a white GMC pickup truck.
The collision was devastating. Amado was thrown from his bicycle, and his bike was dragged several feet. What should have been another ordinary morning became a moment of unimaginable sorrow.
In the aftermath, the driver reportedly fled the scene, leaving Amado behind. Police later located the pickup in Glendale and identified 32-year-old Jesus Alejandro Cardenas Angulo as the person investigators believe was driving. Authorities said Angulo was arrested and booked on charges including manslaughter, tampering with evidence, and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances, including whether speed or impairment played a role.
But beyond the investigation is a human life that mattered.
Amado was more than a name in a police report. He was someone who had memories, relationships, hopes, and a story that deserved more chapters.
Today, we remember him with love and sorrow. May the memories he created continue to live in the hearts of those who knew him. May his family find strength through this unimaginable pain, and may Amado’s memory never fade.
Rest peacefully, Amado Rodriguez Jr. 🕊️ May you never be forgotten. ❤️
