A Young Life Gone Far Too Soon.
The heart aches with an unbearable sadness as we remember 12-year-old Kantori Chestnut of Loris, South Carolina, whose young life was tragically taken following a heartbreaking crash outside Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
On Wednesday evening, September 17, what should have been a peaceful church service became a moment of unimaginable grief. At approximately 9:59 p.m., a 2026 Nissan Rogue backed through the church parking lot and struck Kantori before also colliding with the church building. She was rushed to the hospital, but despite efforts to save her, her injuries proved too severe, and she passed away.
Twelve years is far too short for a life to end. There were still dreams waiting to unfold, memories yet to be made, laughter that should have filled many more years, and a future that should have stretched endlessly before her. Kantori was a daughter, a loved one, a child whose presence meant something deeply precious to those who knew her.
Tonight, a family is left facing the kind of silence no parent or loved one should ever have to endure. A community mourns a young soul whose journey ended far too early.
May the memories of Kantori bring comfort where words cannot. May her name continue to be spoken with love, and may she forever remain a beautiful light in the hearts of those who knew her.
Rest peacefully, sweet Kantori. Your time was far too brief, but your memory will never fade. 🕊️🕯️💔
R.I.P. Kantori Chestnut — Forever 12.
